Didier Défago's conferences
Why choose alpine skiing as one’s sport? Very simple really. The addiction to skiing was in my genes, my parents taking me on the slopes very early. I was lucky and was able to devote my time to the sport. It’s also the dream of many children. From then on, the constant thrills and challenges became a source of enormous daily pleasure! During such difficult moments, like many others, I felt driven always to give of my best.
I may have retired from active competition, but I keep well in touch with the skiing world. My sponsors have kept faith, with me and I exercise various roles for them. In addition, Bernard Russi and I work together on designing new runs for the World Cup and the Winter Olympics.
And I am always keeping an eye out for the young Swiss talent that is coming through.
